On July 1, 2022, the Transparency Act came into effect in Norway.
The purpose of the Act is to promote companies’ respect for human rights and decent working conditions, as well as to ensure public access to information.
At Nøsted & we work for responsible and sustainable value chains based on respect for people, the environment, and sound business ethics.
We set clear requirements for our suppliers – regarding ethics, quality, and the environment. Through our Supplier Code of Conduct, we clearly outline our expectations for responsible behavior.
This is an important part of our responsibility – and our contribution to an industry where future generations can continue to create value.
As part of our work with the Transparency Act, Nøsted & AS uses the digital tool Transparency Gate for systematic mapping and due diligence assessments of our suppliers. Transparency Gate provides overview, insight, and control over risks related to human rights, working conditions, and sustainability in the supply chain.
Through annual self-reporting from our suppliers, we collect information on ethical guidelines, environmental standards, certifications, and countries of production. The tool is based on OECD guidelines and helps us identify potential risk areas, enabling us to follow up with suppliers and implement measures when necessary.
Transparency Gate is an important tool in our efforts to promote responsible business practices and ensure compliance with the Transparency Act.

Through Transparency Gate, we encourage stakeholders to request information about our company and our value chains, and we invite the reporting of any issues that violate human rights or our ethical guidelines. We take all reports seriously and are committed to investigating each case to uncover and correct any violations.
